Part 3: Enter the Snow Queen

After what seems like a lifetime of traveling downwards, the Bergmite finally stops. In fact, it stops dead. It doesn't seem to want to go any further. So you pass by it to see what is ahead. To your surprise you realise the tunnel opens up here, not into a cave or cavern, but into an outside space.

Slowly, cautiously, you step out into the area. The air is freezing but still. The ground is mostly grass, but compacted hard by the frost. There is a single willow tree, covered in icicles. The area is bordered by the mountain sides.

But by far the strangest and most disturbing thing here, over to the far left of the area, is a whole herd of Avalugg and Bergmite, standing totally still on the grass.

You dare to venture closer... only to find that none of them are moving. Not even blinking. They're just standing there. Literally frozen in place.

Before you can run back to the tunnel to ask the Bergmite what caused this, a shadow casts over you. You look up, see something perching on the rock face, smiling down at you.

"My, my. How intriguing. Never has a human-led group such as yours dared to enter my territory." It says, its voice hollow and menacing.

The creature stretches out two icicle-laden wings, flies right across the chasm. You spin around, still looking up, keeping the thing in sight. The sun beaming down from above temporarily blinds you and you lose track of the creature... Until a voice sounds from right behind you.

"Come to thwart my plans, have you...?"

You dare to slowly turn. Your gaze meets the thing's hollow eyes. You back away at the sight of its claws, its teeth.

"Hmm, you think you can stop me? Place yourself in my path and I'll bring my plans to a halt. If you do think that you're very much mistaken." It says as it starts to slowly circle you, eying you and your Pokemon. You brace yourself, certain it is going to attack. Then it says, "Well who am I to get in your way of getting in my way? Hehe, yes, show me your power. This should be interesting."

The creature is goading you into attacking. It may be the only way to save the Bergmite's family... and the whole of Christmas, if this thing is truly planning to ruin the festive season. It's time to send it packing!

Objective 1: Design the creature for yourself and write/draw your Pokemon battling it. The creature can be any Pokemon, with any number of traits, but it must have wings and must be an Ice type (either through blend or the chosen species). Please state your chosen Pokemon and traits used in the description of your piece and in your comment below.

Objective 2 (optional): Turns out this creature has a special power. Physically touching it comes with the risk of your Pokemon being "iced". Pokemon suffering from this affliction take on Ice-type traits (as though they have been given an Ice blend) and also suffer from the Frozen status condition. Draw/write one or more of your Pokemon in their "iced" form to gain bonus points!

Objective 3 (optional): Need some help? If the creature has cornered you, there is a Pokemon watching, waiting to leap to your assistance should you need it. A guardian of this icy realm, angry at the creature for trying to take her lands. Draw the ice guardian in your piece for bonus points!

(Please note, I have made a change to the way submissions are dealt with. While each part will be posted in intervals like the usual CC events, all three parts will remain open for submissions until the end of the month. So you can choose to submit during the appropriate week if you like to keep the momentum, or submit all three entries at once after the third prompt is posted. It's up to you. That way everyone has more time, and people choosing to join later in the month have the chance to submit to the previous weeks' prompts. Though of course everyone who made sure to get their week 1 prompts in for the deadline get a huge pat on the back for your efforts!! Note also, you don't have to submit to all three prompts, but the final prizes will be judged based on how many entries you make..!! And please be sure to submit to the appropriate comment below when submitting your prompts.)

Part 2: Down, into the icy darkness

Finally, after days of walking, you reach the base of a large mountain range. Large being the operative word... For it seems the Bergmite wants you to climb...

With a heavy, cloudy-breath sigh, you follow the creature onwards and upwards. The path is treacherous... Ice-laden rocks are slippery underfoot, constantly threatening to send you over the edge. The freezing cold gets under your clothes and pinches relentlessly at your skin. A thin but worrying snowstorm starts to wip up as you ascend, bringing visibility to an all time low. And you are certain you hear some grumble of a nearby Pokemon that does not sound happy at your wandering around in its territory....

But as the Bergmite pushes on, so do you, until eventually you reach a cave somewhere close to the mountain summit.

Glad to be out of the storm, you rush in. The cave is dark, the only light coming from you and your Pokemon, but even in the extremely dim light you notice two things about your surroundings. First off, the cave quickly becomes some kind of tunnel system which seems to turn downwards, like something has dug right down into the mountain. Second, there is absolutely no life in here. No Pokemon, no humans, not even any plants.

The Bergmite tells you that this is their old home and that many Bergmite and Avalugg used to reside here. That was.... until she came.....

You try to question who this "she" is, but the Bergmite quickly scurries off through the tunnel system, saying something about taking you to where its family is trapped. You run after it, not wanting to get lost in the intricate and rather confusing web of tunnels.

Despite the lack of life here, you are sure you can feel eyes on you as you follow the Bergmite down into the mountain...

Follow the Bergmite up the treacherous mountain path and into the deserted cave. Once you reach the tunnel system, keep close, for the tunnels are confusing. Do you get lost? Do you keep the Bergmite in your sight at all times? Do you manage to shift that feeling that something is watching....?

Since CC is on hiatus for December, I thought I'd arrange my own event for those of you still aching for event prompts!

There will be 3 prompts total. I will arrange prizes from my own stash, which will be handed out at the end of the month. The more prompts you enter, the better the prize. There will also be a grand prize for the overall winner~

Part 1: The Descending Fog

The snow has fallen across the caverns, but the distinctive Christmassy atmosphere that usually follows is somewhat missing this year. Perhaps it is due to everything that had happened... the rift that has formed due to Cresselia's deception and their fight with Darkrai... or maybe it is that strange, thick fog hanging in the air somewhere near the northern mountain range.

Either way, you find yourself lacking in festive cheer, and decide to stay indoors today.

That is until a knock on your door disturbs you and you open it to find a little Bergmite requesting your help. According to the ice creature, something is happening in the northern mountains. Something big. It is ranting and raving so much that it is difficult to decipher exactly what the problem is, but it seems as though some kind of Pokemon has taken over the caves the Bergmite calls its home. Only this Pokemon managed to escape, while its family had become trapped.

The Pokemon begs for your help. It insists that helping it is in your best interests too, as the Pokemon holding its family hostage has confessed to its intentions of a much greater plan. A plan that will ruin Christmas for the whole region.

You mention thr Messengers. Surely if this is a serious threat, they would be notified first. But it seems the Messengers are out of contact.

Looks like this is a problem you will have to deal with...

If you choose to help the Bergmite, you better wrap up warm, because the road to the northern mountains is long and treacherous. Expect freezing cold temperatures, rough terrain, risks of rockfalls, and possible attacks from wild Pokemon.

Each slot has a theme and is first come first served. When a slot is taken I will mark it as taken. Each slot is pay what you want - the more genenerous the offer, the longer story I will write. Please comment with your slot choice, the character(s) you want to include, and your offer. You can give me more than one character to include. Again, the more generous the offer, the more characters I can give large parts to.

(To give a general idea, I'd aim to do at least 100 words per 50 points/100 caps offered. One oos item, I'd aim for 300-400 words. Note that this will vary! The nature of story telling means I often can't predict how long it'll be!)

I will fit the story around the theme and around the characters personality/trivia so it will be a bespoke story worked around the theme. Feel free to use characters you feel will fit the theme well and feel free to provide me with any additional trivia.
